Job summary

Stratum Reservoir is expanding its Wellbore Productivity Laboratory in Stavanger and seeks an Analytical Chemist or Production Chemist to join the team.

You will perform water chemistry analyses and operate ICP-OES, Ion Chromatography, and titration systems, supporting core flooding studies and production chemistry projects.

This hands-on role offers opportunities to develop methods, contribute to cutting-edge laboratory services, and grow within a global geoscience laboratory network.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Production Chemistry, Petroleum Chemistry, or a related discipline
• Previous laboratory experience within oil & gas, production chemistry, water analysis or related industries is preferred.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation such as ICP-OES, IC or automated titration systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced water chemistry analyses
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments including:
• ICP-OES
• Ion Chromatography (IC)
• Titration systems
• pH, conductivity and turbidity instruments
• Support production chemistry and flow assurance projects
• Develop and improve laboratory methods and procedures
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality and HSE requirements
• Plan, execute and report core flood experiments
• Prepare technical reports and communicate results to clients and colleagues
• Contribute to the growth and development of the laboratory's service portfolio
