We are now looking to hire for the following position:
Analytical Chemist / Production Chemist – Wellbore Productivity Laboratory
Stratum Reservoir is expanding and is seeking an experienced and motivated Analytical Chemist or Production Chemist to join our wellbore productivity Laboratory in Stavanger.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and delivering laboratory services that support the energy industry, including water analysis, scale inhibitor qualification, formation damage studies, new energy studies and core flooding experiments.
We are looking for a self-driven individual who enjoys solving technical challenges, working independently, and contributing to the growth of a modern laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and advanced water chemistry analyses
Operate and maintain analytical instruments including:
ICP-OES
Ion Chromatography (IC)
Titration systems
pH, conductivity and turbidity instruments
Support production chemistry and flow assurance projects
Develop and improve laboratory methods and procedures
Ensure compliance with laboratory quality and HSE requirements
Plan, execute and report core flood experiments
Prepare technical reports and communicate results to clients and colleagues
Contribute to the growth and development of the laboratory's service portfolio
Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Production Chemistry, Petroleum Chemistry, or a related discipline
Previous laboratory experience within oil & gas, production chemistry, water analysis or related industries is preferred.
Experience with analytical instrumentation such as ICP-OES, IC or automated titration systems is desirable.
Experience with core flooding, scale inhibitor testing, formation damage testing or reservoir laboratory work is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
