Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent required.
• 15+ years general offshore/marine experience.
• 10+ years in a management position within offshore/marine industry.
• Strong leadership, project management and decision-making skills.
• Commercially aware and client-oriented.
• Solid knowledge of safety, emergency and corporate management procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Dutch and/or German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team and report to the Project Manager.
• Provide technical, operational and administrative leadership across project phases, prioritising site safety and day-to-day execution.
• Review and approve risk assessments, method statements and programmes; inspect and investigate incidents.
• Ensure trained, qualified personnel and contractors are used and comply with safety standards.
• Coordinate toolbox talks, PPE, housekeeping and safety briefing of new personnel and subcontractors.
• Monitor safety checks, inspections, SHEQ reports and action close-out.

Short Description

Are you a senior marine or offshore manager who can lead a project team and keep works safe, organised and on track? We are looking for a Works Manager to provide technical, operational and administrative leadership across all project phases, with a strong focus on site safety, planning and day-to-day execution.

Function Description

As Works Manager you lead the project team and report to the Project Manager. You give technical, operational and administrative support throughout the project and are responsible, together with the SHEQ engineer, for putting health and safety into practice on site. You set the standard for the people reporting to you, keep minimum safety standards in place and make sure trained, qualified personnel and contractors are used.

You review and approve risk assessments, method statements and programmes, carry out inspections, follow up non-conformances and investigate incidents, accidents and near misses. At the start of a project you read the method statements, organisation chart, emergency response plan, SHEQ plan and risk analysis, and you check that people are trained before work begins. Day to day you control toolbox talks, PPE, housekeeping, safe use of equipment and the briefing of new personnel and subcontractors. Weekly and monthly you follow up safety-critical checks, inspections, SHEQ reports and action close-out.

You have the authority to act within your responsibilities and within the company authorisation matrix. The role asks for a senior profile with strong leadership, project management and commercial awareness.

Requirements

• Completed master’s degree or equivalent
• At least 15 years’ general offshore / marine experience
• At least 10 years in a management position within the offshore / marine industry
• Strong leadership, project management and decision-making skills
• Commercially aware and client-oriented
• Solid knowledge of safety, emergency and corporate management procedures
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Dutch and/or German is a plus
