We're looking for an experienced HSE Manager to join a major construction project in Holland on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for an accomplished safety professional with strong leadership and compliance expertise within large-scale construction environments. Please note, applicants must be EU citizens or have the right to work in the Netherlands.

Our client is a leading construction contractor delivering large and complex infrastructure projects across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the health and safety function on assigned projects.
- Provide advice and direction to project teams, engineers and supervisors on safety requirements.
- Ensure safety is embedded in planning, delivery and close-out stages of the project.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.
- Lead development and review of safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.
- Conduct inspections, audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and provide support where needed.
- Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and training sessions for staff and subcontractors.
- Prepare and present safety reports to leadership teams and maintain accurate records.
Must-have Requirements
- EU citizenship or the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices in construction.
- Proven experience managing health and safety on large construction projects.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills with excellent organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to identify, assess and manage risks in dynamic project environments.
- NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
- Professional membership with IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
- Demonstrated experience in managing safety teams or site-based safety professionals.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or on projects such as infrastructure, life sciences or data centres.
- Familiarity with digital tools for safety reporting and performance tracking.
- Knowledge of occupational health and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Postgraduate qualification in health and safety, risk management or related disciplines.
- Additional training in behavioural safety or leadership coaching.
- Experience in environmental and sustainability aspects of project delivery.
