Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Workplace Health Manager to shape and strengthen our workplace health, absenteeism, reintegration, and occupational health compliance across the Netherlands.

You will collaborate with People Partners, leaders, HSE, occupational health providers, and Works Councils to ensure legal compliance, improve case outcomes, and support sustainable employability in a practical, business-focused way.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years’ relevant experience in HR, occupational health, absenteeism management, case management, or a related discipline.
• Strong experience managing complex absenteeism and reintegration processes in the Netherlands.
• Solid knowledge of Dutch sickness absence, reintegration, labour, Arbo, WIA, and social security legislation, including Wet verbetering poortwachter.
• Ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into pragmatic business processes and guidance.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise, challenge, and support senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape and continuously improve how absenteeism and reintegration are managed across Maersk entities in the Netherlands.
• Guide and challenge leaders, People Partners, Case Managers, and other stakeholders on complex absenteeism, reintegration, and Wet verbetering poortwachter topics.
• Keep oversight of long-term sickness cases, ensuring timely follow-up, clear escalation, and effective intervention strategies.
• Work closely with occupational health providers, company doctors, case managers, and external vendors to improve the quality and consistency of case management.
• Use absenteeism insights and trends to identify risks and recommend targeted actions that support prevention and sustainable employability.
