Mercer Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands
Role: Working student on the Health (Mercer Marsh Benefits) department in Rotterdam.
Contract type: Temporary; part-time two days per week.
Responsibilities
- Work on projects that are socially relevant within the Health department, focusing on people risks such as sustainable employability, absenteeism and disability, generational issues, care costs and labour market shortages.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of models to forecast a employer’s workforce and to assess the impact on sickness absence and disability.
- Show costs for continuing as-is and sketch scenarios with policy changes; develop models to calculate premiums for sickness absence and disability insurance and forecast trends.
- Explore topics such as care costs from a societal perspective and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications
- You want to make an impact on society by working on the topics described above.
- Currently enrolled in a relevant Dutch university programme (year 2 or higher):
- Econometrics
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence
- Related beta studies
- Strong curiosity, quick learner, and willingness to speak up if you think your idea may improve on what you are told.
- Good knowledge of R and Python.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team.
- Available two days per week (to be agreed).
