Zalm Partners is seeking a detail‑driven data and research professional to map client buying journeys and extract meaningful patterns from large sets of research data. You will set up measurement frameworks for each client, determine which questions buyers genuinely ask, and translate findings into actionable insights.
You will read data outputs, spot inconsistencies, trace sources of error, and report changes with clear storytelling that helps executives act.
Buyers increasingly do their research without a company noticing any of it. They put their question to a search engine or to AI, get an answer assembled from dozens of sources, and form their opinion on that. Only part of that answer comes from the company's own website.
We map that complete picture and make sure it holds up. We measure using AI models, because they have processed the entire web and therefore give the most complete reflection of what exists about a brand.
You are the one who does that measuring and makes sense of it.
What you will do
Set up the measurement. For each client you determine which questions their ideal customer genuinely asks, in their own words, across the whole buying journey: from an early orientation question that does not mention any brand, to a direct comparison with a competitor. That is less straightforward than it sounds, because a badly framed question returns an answer you cannot use.
Read the data. You analyse what comes out of the measurements: in what share of answers is a brand mentioned, in what role, is it accurate, which sources sit underneath it, which competitor appears alongside. Per model, over time, as a percentage rather than a snapshot.
Spot the patterns. You look for where things go wrong: sources contradicting each other, outdated information, questions left unanswered, places where a brand simply does not appear. And you trace every error back to the source it came from.
Measure the effect. After something has been changed, you check whether it worked. Against the baseline taken beforehand, per change separately, so it is clear what made the difference.
Tell the story. You translate what you see into something a client can act on. A report that only contains numbers is unfinished work.
What we are looking for
Nice to have, not required: experience in SEO, analytics, market research or data analysis. Or simply: you have already been digging into how AI search engines pick their sources, out of your own interest.
