Job summary

Valcon seeks a Data Science Consultant to lead client projects and drive data-driven transformation. You will guide projects through the solution lifecycle, communicating value with strong storytelling and a broad yet deep skillset in data science and AI/ML.

You will develop current and new projects, collaborate on proposals, and lead stakeholders from ideation to delivery. Dutch and English fluency, plus passion for client interaction and project management, are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative science with commercial focus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience with Data Science / AI / Machine Learning.
• Strong storytelling and communication with stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Develop current or new projects and contribute to proposals to secure projects and partnerships.
• Guide projects from ideation to implementation, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
• Lead data-driven analysis, insight generation, and data science solutions to address business inquiries.

As a Data Science Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through data-driven transformation. Your responsibility will be to lead projects through the solution lifecycle, providing direction and ensuring alignment with business objectives. While a deep understanding of relevant techniques is important, your leadership and storytelling skills will be paramount in driving projects towards success.

You will be the driving force behind delivering existing projects as well as developing new ones. Proficiency in storytelling and strong leadership skills are crucial to effectively communicate the value of our solutions to broad stakeholders. Moreover, your ability to adopt a 'T-shaped' skill set - broad expertise complemented by deep proficiency in specific areas - will be instrumental in driving impact and innovation.

What will you do?

Experience

• You have a master's degree in a quantitative science with a commercial focus, e.g. Econometrics, Industrial Engineering or Data Science.
• You have a minimum of 5 years relevant working experience.
• You have experience/affinity with Data Science / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
• You aspire to broaden your skill set beyond technical implementation, you are eager to take on a role that emphasizes client interaction, project management, and solution delivery.
• You are strong in storytelling. You have good communication skills. You can convince both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
