ABB Marine & Ports seeks a Route Analyst in the Netherlands to apply hands-on seafaring experience to optimize vessel routes, assess weather data, and deliver actionable guidance for safer, more efficient operations.

You’ll collaborate with maritime agencies, operators and ABB’s routing software to provide consultancy, post-voyage analysis and timely insights. English proficiency is essential, and there is an international, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the maritime field, ideally as an Officer.
• Experience as a Route Analyst is a plus.
• Expertise in route planning and coordinating vessel movements from one location to another.
• Strong collaboration skills with maritime agencies, operations departments and vessel crew.
• A proactive mindset and a passion for improving operational plans.
• A hands-on attitude, high sense of responsibility, and customer-oriented approach.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse the weather through interpreting weather models, observations, radar and satellite imagery.
• Issue route advices, taking navigational constraints for the specific vessel and route into consideration.
• Provide route comparison and scenario analysis through consultancy.
• Produce Post Voyage Analysis, interpreting and applying relevant charter parties.
• Provide consultancy and explanation to customers following PVAR delivery
• Produce contra PVARs, including basic understanding of competitors analysis and the strength and weaknesses of both ABB and competitor methodology.
• Utilize a variety of internal applications and have deep product knowledge to provide timely insights to shipping customers routes and voyages.
• Handle advanced customer queries, both via mail and phone
• Contribute to improvement. Participate in improvement plans, and actively contribute to the quality of our work.
