Job summary

Pathways is seeking an Advisor – Maritime Operations in Amsterdam to help take our maritime and offshore transformation projects to the next level. You will strengthen SME knowledge across maintenance, procurement, inventory, dry docking, projects, QHSSE, and document management while leading client workshops and ensuring practical, industry-aligned improvements.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of core maritime processes (maintenance, procurement, inventory, dry docking, projects, QHSSE, document management).
• Operational experience from sailing or shore-based maritime roles (superintendent, fleet manager, technical manager or similar).
• Experience driving change and transformation within maritime organizations.
• Experience implementing planned maintenance systems (PMS) in a maritime setting.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and mentor junior team members.

Advisor – Maritime Operations

Amsterdam, Netherlands | On-site

Responsibilities

• Strengthen Pathways' subject matter expert (SME) knowledge within core maritime processes, including Maintenance, Procurement, Inventory, Dry Docking, Projects, QHSSE, and Document Management.
• Facilitate and lead client workshops focused on process management, including process mapping, process improvement, and requirements gathering.
• Act as Pathways' “content” authority on core maritime processes.
• Apply industry best practices and help manage stakeholder expectations throughout the transformation journey.
• Bridge operational experience with client needs, helping stakeholders navigate change, and identify practical improvements.
• Contribute to improving project deliverables by ensuring solutions are operationally sound and aligned with industry’s best practices.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of core maritime processes, including Maintenance, Procurement, Inventory, Dry Docking/Projects, QHSSE, and Document Management.
• Operational experience from either sailing or shore-based maritime roles, such as Superintendent, Fleet Manager, Technical Manager, or similar.
• Experience with driving change and transformation within maritime organizations.
• Experience from system implementation in a maritime organization – for instance experience implementing Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor junior team members.
• Ability to work on-site with the client.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Dutch language skills (spoken and written) are considered an advantage.
