Rotterdam Engineering BV is seeking a Junior Engineer to join our energy and infrastructure projects in Rotterdam. You will independently perform diverse calculations and analyses, including strength, hydraulic, geotechnical assessments and route studies for underground pipelines.
You will collaborate with (Lead) Engineers, drafters, and project managers, handling smaller projects solo and contributing in multidisciplinary teams on larger ones.

As an Engineer, you will work on diverse projects in the field of underground pipeline infrastructure, including heat networks, thermal energy storage (TES), natural gas, hydrogen, and drinking water. You will independently perform calculations and analyses, such as:
You will work proactively with (Lead) Engineers, drafters, and project managers. You will handle smaller projects independently; for larger projects, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will provide high-quality technical input that is crucial to the success of our projects.

You start by performing calculations and analyses, under the guidance of experienced engineers. You learn to work in a project-based manner and build knowledge of materials, piping systems, and standards.
With experience, you perform more complex calculations, mentor junior engineers, and help determine the technical direction of projects. As a Lead Engineer, you manage teams and liaise with project leaders.
You hold ultimate technical responsibility for projects, monitor quality, and manage technical risks. As a Senior Lead Engineer, you coordinate large teams and ensure integrated technical alignment.
Phase 4 – Specialist or Advisor
You develop into an expert or strategic advisor. You contribute to innovation, standard development, or policy advice and represent the organization in national or professional bodies.
