Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), part of the SATS Group, is a prominent name in the international air cargo industry, with more than 50,000 employees worldwide. Our operations at Schiphol, Europe’s third-busiest airport, play a vital role in supporting logistics and trade. Our services ensure that goods reach their destinations around the world quickly, safely and efficiently. We handle the receipt, storage and preparation of both import and export cargo. This includes sorting goods, storing them securely and preparing them for onward distribution. We unload trucks, build up cargo on aircraft pallets or in containers, and ensure that every shipment reaches the right destination. We handle virtually every type of cargo imaginable, which makes our work exciting: every day, the world passes through our doors.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a ULD management expert to join us as a ULD Control Coordinator.
As a ULD Control Coordinator, you will be managing Unit Load Devices (ULDs) inside and outside the warehouse on a daily basis. You will be responsible for correctly planning, allocating and recording ULDs and related equipment, including pallets and containers. You understand how different ULD types are built up and used, including for special shipments such as outsized or overhanging cargo, and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines.
You will coordinate ULD-related activities in the warehouse and monitor progress. This includes providing operational guidance to employees, giving additional instructions when needed and intervening when issues or bottlenecks arise. You will address operational problems that employees cannot resolve themselves and consult with your manager as required.
You will also plan and monitor the receipt and release of empty ULDs, coordinating with customers and other parties involved. You will monitor stock levels, carry out checks in the warehouse and in the systems, and maintain accurate, up-to-date records. You will identify and document discrepancies in stock, planning or execution promptly.
You will communicate with customers about ULD availability and status, prepare stock reports and handle complaints, including preparing damage reports. During busy periods or staff shortages, you will support the team with operational tasks. You will also oversee routine daily maintenance performed by equipment users and actively suggest improvements to working methods and processes. In everything you do, you will ensure compliance with safety, quality and company procedures and help maintain a clean and safe working environment.
