Job summary

QuantWare is seeking a Quantum R&D Engineer - TWPA to act as a domain expert on Josephson Travelling Wave Parametric Amplifiers and translate product specs into TWPA architectures. You will push microwave engineering limits and drive integration of on‑chip components.

You will design TWPA layouts, run simulations, and compare results with cryogenic measurements, presenting findings to stakeholders and influencing roadmap decisions.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry experience in quantum-limited amplification or superconducting microwave circuits.
• Deep expertise in non-linear metamaterials, Josephson circuits, and mixing processes.
• >3 years of hands-on experience with advanced microwave design and simulation, with published validation against cryogenic data.

Responsibilities

• Translate product specifications & features into TWPA layouts and circuit designs through simulations.
• Drive miniaturisation of TWPA architectures and design/integration of on‑chip peripheral components.
• Explore bandwidth and noise improvements; integrate pump coupling and isolation on‑chip.
• Present findings and proposals to technical and non-technical stakeholders to shape roadmap.
• Keep up with literature and contribute new ideas to the team.
