Job summary

Gisou is seeking a Transport Specialist in Amsterdam to manage the movement of goods across the supply chain. You will coordinate transportation activities, negotiate with carriers, and optimise processes to balance cost and service quality.

Joining a growing, international team, you will operate in a hybrid setup with four office days in central Amsterdam and one day from home. The role requires strong organisational and analytical skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite or

Qualifications

• Proven experience with transport coordination, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders and service providers.
• Proficiency in transportation management systems, ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle)
• A proactive mindset, thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Europe market knowledge and Netherlands footprint awareness can be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Transportation Planning: Organise and coordinate the transport of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Carrier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with transport providers, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance to ensure service excellence.
• Operational Efficiency: Monitor and analyse transportation processes identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies, maintaining a focus on sustainability and bee-friendly practices.
• Problem Resolution: Address and resolve transportation issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to supply chain operations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal team members, such as supply chain planner and warehousing team, to align transport activities with overall timelines and inventory goals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Transport Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our supply chain. You will oversee the execution, and optimisation of transportation activities to meet customer and business requirements against the price possible.
