About the Position of Trainee Sales Manager

The role is designed to prepare you for a sales manager position. From day one, you will experience what it is like to work at the Huisman family business and you will experience a powerful network of colleagues from different departments.

Being a Sales Manager at Huisman means you convert opportunities into sales orders. You determine the strategy and draw on all possibilities to realise it. You take responsibility by setting your own sales target in consultation with your manager.

What you will learn and experience

During the first phase you will work in the Installation Commissioning & Testing department. You will assist with the installation and testing of sold and built equipment, giving you a good idea of how our products work and where the challenges lie.

In the second phase you will work at our Tender & Concepts department. This team is responsible for developing the designs of our products for tenders or product development. You will become part of a team where innovation, creativity, quality and flexibility are central to achieving our business objectives.

That experience will equip you for a future sales manager role at Huisman.

You have
  • A completed relevant Technical Bachelor’s degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • No more than two years of work experience after obtaining your diploma.
  • The ability to process a lot of knowledge and information in a short time; interest in the commercial side of technology.
You are
  • Confident (balanced with modesty), socially strong at building relationships, and brave.
  • Curious, enthusiastic and have a getting‑the‑job‑done mentality.
  • Interested in learning how to manage a project and deal with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Determined.
  • Flexible and prepared to travel.
Some practical things you need to have
  • An EU passport / valid work permit for the Netherlands.
  • A good command of Dutch and English verbally and in writing.
