Job summary

Huisman is seeking a Tender and Concepts Engineer to join our global team. You will develop concepts and tender designs for our equipment, collaborating with multiple departments to ensure feasible, high‑quality solutions and strong client value.

You bring a Master or Bachelor in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, a practical mindset, and strong Dutch and English skills. The role involves project planning, design iterations, and occasional client visits, with opportunities for career

Qualifications

Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
3 years experience preferred; open to learn.
Fluent Dutch and English.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Experience in a project-based environment.

Responsibilities

Discuss client requirements and translate into concept designs and specifications.
Create winning innovative designs.
Oversee costings to keep designs within budget.
Draw up tender documents with Legal, Project Management and Supply Chain.
Visit clients with senior engineers and regional Sales Managers.

What do we expect of you?

Our innovations start with you. As a Tender & Concepts Engineer you are responsible for developing the designs for our equipment for tenders or product development. You become part of a team where innovation, technical understanding, creativity, quality, and flexibility are key to meet our company goals. The projects you work for are characterised by a multidisciplinary approach within a relatively short duration, which results in a dynamic design environment.

Our newly developed technologies are verified by modelling, scale testing in cooperation with our Research and Development team. Your work focuses not only on technical aspects but spans the entirety of the project, to include project-planning, installation and test programming.

This Means You Will Be Responsible For

Participating to discuss the client’s functional requirements in detail and translating them into an appropriate value proposition with corresponding concept designs and specifications;
Creating winning innovative designs;
Paying close attention and having an oversight of costings to einsure designs stay within the client’s budget;
Drawing up the tender documents in close collaboration with the Legal, Project Management and Supply Chain departments;
Visiting clients together with senior Tender and Concepts Engineers and regional Sales Managers;

You Have

Some practical things we need you to have

A Master or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering;
Preferably 3 years of experience in a similar role. We are also open to a candidate who wants to learn this profession;
Excellent command of both Dutch and English;
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
Good communication and organizational skills;
Experience working in a project-based environment;
