Job summary

Gelber Group in Amsterdam is seeking a Trade Support Specialist to join our global trading operations. You will work closely with traders and technology teams, delivering first- and second-line technical support and monitoring trading applications.

This hands-on role requires a university degree, 2+ years experience, and strong English. You’ll gain exposure to trade lifecycle, exchange connectivity, and opportunities to automate and improve processes across our European operations.

Qualifications

• University degree.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• General understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Basic SQL knowledge.
• Familiarity with Python or PowerShell is a plus, and willing to learn.
• Interest in financial markets and trading technology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, self-starting approach and ownership.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work an early schedule and occasional after-hours support.
• Willingness to travel to Chicago for training.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line technical support to traders and employees across the firm.
• Perform real-time monitoring and support of trading applications, with secondary responsibility for monitoring technical infrastructure.
• Monitor proprietary applications, exchange connectivity, and trading systems, identifying, investigating, and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Troubleshoot technical and operational problems to minimize disruptions to trading activities.
• Develop an understanding of trading workflows, exchange operations, and the trade lifecycle to support effective problem resolution.
• Identify opportunities to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and support processes through automation, AI, and other technologies.
• Communicate effectively with traders, technology teams, and other internal stakeholders across the firm.
