Job summary

ALTEN0s Rotterdam office is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions that enhance software quality for clients across industries.

You will work with local stakeholders on test strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks, requiring fluency in Dutch and strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in test automation or software QA.
• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestComplete, or Postman.
• Fluency in Dutch and strong communication in technical/functional contexts.
• HBO or WO degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts for web, API, and backend systems.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
• Execute integration, regression, and end-to-end tests with modern automation tools.
• Analyze and report test results, including defects and areas for improvement.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD test automation pipelines to increase test coverage.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to align test activities with objectives.
• Stay up to date with new trends, tools, and best practices in test automation.

Job description

To strengthen our growing organization, we are looking for a Test Automation Engineer to join our team in Rotterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions that contribute to the quality and reliability of our clients' software.

Since you will work closely with local stakeholders and project teams, fluency in Dutch is a requirement.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts for web, API, and backend systems.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality standards.
• Execute integration, regression, and end-to-end tests using modern test automation tools.
• Analyze and report test results, including identifying defects and areas for improvement.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD test automation pipelines to increase test coverage.
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to align test activities with technical and functional objectives.
• Stay up to date with new trends, tools, and best practices in test automation.

Your Profile

• 3–5 years of experience in test automation or software quality assurance.
• Experience with one or more test automation tools, such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, TestComplete, or Postman.
• Familiarity with CI/CD environments such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills and a structured, precise way of working.
• Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team.
• Fluent in Dutch (required) and strong communication skills in technical and functional contexts.
• Completed HBO or WO education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Comfortable working remotely with engineering teams in countries other than the Netherlands.
