Job summary

ALTEN Nederland is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to strengthen our engineering and software development teams. You will design, develop, and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability across upcoming projects.

The role demands strong Python programming, familiarity with C++, and 3+ years in QA/test automation, with experience in API and end-to-end testing, CI/CD integration, and Git version control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with API, integration, functional, and end-to-end automated testing.
• Strong programming skills in Python (must-have).
• Solid experience with C++ (nice-to-have).
• At least 3 years in a test automation or QA role.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, integration, and end-to-end validation.
• Build and maintain a scalable test automation framework as the primary focus.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with development teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Report defects and analyze failures to support resolution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test coverage and automation practices.

The Position

As part of our ongoing expansion in advanced engineering and digital product development, we are looking for Test Automation Engineers to strengthen our team and support the creation of high‑quality, future‑ready solutions for upcoming projects. You will play a central part in guaranteeing the reliability, performance, and scalability of our software systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for functional, integration, and end‑to‑end validation.
• Building and maintaining a scalable test automation framework as your primary focus.
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Working closely with development teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Reporting defects, analyzing failures, and supporting resolution.
• Contributing to continuous improvement of test coverage and automation practices.

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python (must‑have).
• Solid experience with C++ (highly appreciated).
• At least 3 years of experience in a test automation or QA role.
• Experience with API, integration, functional, and end‑to‑end automated testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with Robot Framework is a nice‑to‑have.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipeline integration is a nice‑to‑have.
