Job summary

Huisman is seeking an Expeditor at its Schiedam site to monitor supplier progress and ensure timely deliveries. You will act as the ears, eyes, and voice of Huisman, visiting suppliers when needed and reporting back with reliable information for the project team.

The role requires a practical mindset, strong English skills, and a Bachelor’s degree. You will work in a collaborative, client‑focused environment with opportunities for learning and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of thinking.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and project coordination is beneficial.
• Strong English communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Engineering and QC for deadlines and external visits.
• Monitoring the progress of procured goods and services, in accordance with the purchase order.
• Ensuring delivery is in line with agreements, pushing and escalating when the project requires it.
• Maintaining a proactive approach to ensure timely delivery and avoid surprises.

About the position of Expeditor

What to expect of the Expeditor position within Huisman?

Would you like to work as the ears, the eyes and the voice of Huisman? As an Expeditor, you will monitor the progress of our suppliers and, where necessary, visit them to determine whether the set deadlines are being met and know when to elevate and/or mitigate in case of deviations. You have a critical and challenging mindset and do not want to go back to the project team empty-handed. You provide the project team with complete and reliable information so that there are no costly planning surprises.

What do we expect of you?

As an Expeditor you are responsible for:

• A relevant Bachelor work and thinking level.

• Able to work with (ERP) systems;
• Proactive and persuasive;
• Practical, accurate and punctual.

Some practical things we need you to have:

• An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
