Job summary

Huisman in Schiedam is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to assemble and complete semi-finished products in a fast-paced production hall. You will follow drawings and standards, set up equipment with the team, and ensure quality and safety throughout the assembly and installation process.

The role requires 4–6 years of relevant experience or a ready-to-learn attitude for a starting fitter, with English language proficiency and knowledge of safety rules.

Qualifications

• EU passport or valid work permit for the Netherlands.
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written).
• 4–6 years relevant work experience or starting Mechanical Fitter with right attitude.
• Experience with rotating equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• In cooperation with foreman, determine work assignments and follow planning.
• Ensure equipment is set up correctly and check dimensions of semi-finished products.
• Carry out assembly, completion and installation per plans and safety standards.
• Use tested tools and report defects to manager/technical service.
• Collaborate with management and prep teams to improve assembly process.

About The Position Of Mechanical Fitter M/F

Are you a technical talent with a passion for assembling and completing semi‑finished products? As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and completing semi‑finished products within the agreed time, in accordance with standards, requirements and drawings. Your expertise is vital to our success.

What do we expect of you?

Your Will Be Responsible For The Following

• In cooperation with the foreman, you will determine work assignments and closely follow work instructions and planning;
• Working with the team, you will ensure that the required equipment is set up correctly and you will check the quantity, quality and dimensions of semi‑finished products and supplied parts;
• You will carry out the assembly, completion and installation of semi‑finished products and complete installations. All work is carried out in accordance with specific requirements, plans and strict safety, environmental and quality standards;
• You will use tested and safe tools and report any defects to the manager or technical service in good time. Working safely and efficiently is our top priority;
• You will work with management and work preparation teams to improve the assembly process.

• Experience with rotating equipment would be preferred.

Some Practical Things We Need You To Have

• An EU passport/valid work permit for the Netherlands;
• A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
