Job summary

Unity Partners is seeking a Technical Project Manager for hardware product development in Amsterdam. You will work closely with the Product Manager and Systems Engineer to drive scope, planning, and a technical roadmap across the full product lifecycle.

• Work directly and closely with the Product Manager and Systems Engineer on scope, planning, and technical roadmap.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap for an upcoming major product development effort, adapting an existing product to meet more demanding requirements.

Are you someone who's actually built hardware, from concept through certification, and who thrives working shoulder-to-shoulder with a Product Manager and Systems Engineer rather than off on your own? Then this role is worth a closer look.

About the role

We're looking for a Product Owner / Technical Project Manager to join a growing engineering team (currently around 15 people) developing advanced technical hardware systems. The team is shifting from a project-based way of working toward a product-company model, and this role is central to that shift.

You'll operate in a tight collaboration triangle with a Product Manager and a Systems Engineer. Think of it as a tripod: all three roles need to hold their own for the structure to work. This is not a role for someone who prefers to work independently or in a silo, close, constant collaboration is what makes this team function.

What you'll do

• Own execution planning across the full product lifecycle: concept, design, industrialization, manufacturing, testing, and certification

What you bring

• Hands-on experience in hardware product development (SaaS-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role)


• A clear understanding of how hardware products move from concept to release, including industrialization, manufacturing, and testing


• Strong planning and coordination skills: defining scope, breaking work into packages, driving accountability across teams


• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, this is as important as technical capability for this role


• A mechanical engineering background (strongly preferred) or physics background


• Master's or PhD-level background


• Experience in a highly regulated industry is a plus
