Job summary

Next Ventures seeks an experienced Technical Lead to design and deliver modern digital platforms within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You will blend hands-on engineering with architecture, stakeholder engagement, and strategic technology development.

You will drive reusable platform services, modular components, and scalable architectures while ensuring robust security practices and alignment with ISO 27001 standards across multiple use cases.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience in software engineering or technical leadership.
• Experience designing modular, web-based applications and digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles and scalable system design.
• Knowledge of containerised environments and CI/CD, including Kubernetes.
• Experience with APIs, data models, data flows, and integration.
• Knowledge of privacy-by-design and security-by-design principles.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive development practices.
• Experience with Agile delivery in fast-paced environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement end-to-end technical solutions across the full application lifecycle.
• Define solution architectures and technical requirements aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams and suppliers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Engineering teams to align infrastructure, security, and development standards.
• Identify emerging technologies and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Establish, maintain, and improve security practices in line with ISO 27001.
• Support the development of scalable, reusable platform capabilities and modular components.
• Drive successful integration between systems, services, APIs, and data sources.
• Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives and iterative product development.
