Job summary

Next Ventures is seeking a Technical Consultant / Developer to support a major research cloud platform initiative in Amsterdam. The role combines infrastructure automation, cloud technologies, and software development, collaborating with architects, developers, and external partners.

You will migrate Ansible-based environments, design API integrations, and develop Python/Django applications while gathering stakeholder requirements and delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Ansible and infrastructure automation.
• Commercial experience with Python development.
• Experience developing and supporting Django applications.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as OpenStack and VMware.
• Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience integrating with APIs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Migrate existing Ansible-based environments to a cloud-hosted research platform.
• Investigate, design, and implement integrations with platform APIs.
• Develop and maintain applications built with Python and Django.
• Gather and analyse business and technical requirements from stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions alongside solution architects.
• Support infrastructure automation and platform modernisation initiatives.
• Contribute to the delivery of a stable and secure research environment.
