Job summary

TNO is seeking a Technical Operations Specialist to support maintenance and management of high-tech facilities in The Hague and Rijswijk. You will assess issues, coordinate with contractors, and ensure critical experiments run smoothly by aligning maintenance work with user needs.

The role offers growth toward a Technical Coordinator position, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory knowledge, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• MBO or HBO degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations and systems (pressure control, climate control).
• Willingness to learn regulations related to technical management and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and sites.
• Good command of Dutch; English helpful in an international setting.

Responsibilities

• Visit sites regularly to assess malfunctions or user requests.
• Request quotations from contractors or maintenance partners and supervise work.
• Coordinate with users to prevent impact on critical experiments.
• Grow into the role of Technical Coordinator with guidance and training.
