Job summary

IMS, a Netherlands-based company, seeks a Technical Buyer to secure reliable supply chains for project teams and manage ongoing orders, schedules, and costs. You will lead supplier selection, negotiate terms, and develop framework agreements while supporting inventory control and process improvements.

The role requires an HBO degree, NEVI training, ERP/Excel expertise, and strong Dutch/English communication. Hybrid work is possible and training opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Completed technical HBO degree (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
• Completed NEVI training.
• Knowledge of production and processing techniques such as machining, assembly, and electrical engineering.
• Experience with purchasing electrotechnical parts and capital-intensive (sub)systems, both standard and custom-made.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel for data analysis and overviews.
• Good command of Dutch and English; German or another language is a plus.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Structured and analytical work attitude.

Responsibilities

• Procure technically and commercially for project needs, in consultation with project teams.

Job description

As a Technical Buyer at IMS, you form an important link within our organization. You ensure that our project teams can count on a reliable and efficient supply chain. You monitor the progress of ongoing orders, without losing sight of the schedule and costs.

In your role, you look beyond individual projects. Together with colleagues from the Purchasing department, you determine what the organization needs to function and produce. You search for suitable suppliers, investigating reliability, sustainability, and quality.

You work on long-term partnerships with suppliers, actively concluding framework agreements with those selected by you and your colleagues. Furthermore, you are responsible for contract management by evaluating supplier performance and driving continuous improvements. Additionally, you manage and control inventory.

You contribute to improving and professionalizing our purchasing processes. In consultation with our project teams, you purchase technical products and services and negotiate delivery times. To do this, you request quotations, evaluate them, and use your negotiation skills to secure the best possible agreements.

You bring

• Completed technical HBO (higher professional education) degree (e.g., in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering)


• Completed NEVI training


• Knowledge of and experience with production and processing techniques such as machining, assembly, and electrical engineering


• Experience with purchasing electrotechnical parts and capital-intensive (sub)systems, both standard and custom-made


• Experience with ERP systems and extensive expertise in Excel (for data analysis and overviews)


• Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both written and spoken; knowledge of German or another language is a plus

• Attractive salary between €3,450 and €5,790 (scale 10) gross per month (depending on your knowledge and experience), based on full-time employment

Position in the organization

Your workplace is located in our Purchasing department, where you are responsible for procurement. You work closely with your colleagues in the Purchase department and the project teams to realize purchases for our projects as effectively and cost-efficiently as possible. Your hierarchical supervisor is the Operations Director, with whom you also conduct the annual development reviews.
