You know how to secure the right components; at the right cost, quality, and timing.
Before You Hit “Apply”
Tulip Tech is scaling its production and supply chain. Our battery systems are becoming more advanced, our volumes are increasing, and our supplier network is growing alongside it.
This means procurement is no longer just operational, it’s strategic. We need someone who can bring structure, ownership, and commercial sharpness to our component sourcing, while working closely with engineering and production.
You won’t just place orders. You will build the supplier base that enables our technology to scale reliably.
Your Mission
As our Technical Buyer, you are the commercial engine behind our component supply chain. You will own the sourcing of battery cells, PCBs, electronic components, connectors, and related parts, from first RFQ to series delivery. You will work closely with Engineering and Production to translate technical requirements into supply solutions, negotiate sharp deals, and build the supplier relationships that keep our manufacturing lines running without surprises.
What You'll Do
- Own the full sourcing cycle: RFQ, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding
- Source and manage suppliers for battery cells, PCBs, BMS components, connectors, and electronics
- Drive cost optimization and negotiate pricing based on total cost of ownership
- Collaborate with R&D to align on specifications early in the product development process (NPI/DFM)
- Manage supplier performance and resolve quality issues in collaboration with production and quality teams
- Identify and mitigate supply risks (lead times, capacity, EOL) through dual sourcing and planning strategies
- Maintain accurate procurement data and support S&OP planning
- Support scaling of the supply chain as new products are introduced
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in a buyer, sourcing, or procurement role within a technical environment
- HBO or WO degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or similar
- Strong understanding of electronic components and ability to read and interpret BOMs
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and achieving cost improvements
- Experience building and managing supplier relationships
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, production, and finance
- Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
Nice to have:
- Experience with lithium-ion battery components (cells, BMS, etc.)
- Familiarity with DG/hazmat regulations (UN 38.3, IMDG, ADR)
- Experience with Asian supplier markets
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, AFAS, or similar)
- NEVI or CIPS certification
What We Offer
- Salary between €4.500 – €5.500 gross/month (based on experience)
- 38 days off per year (25 vacation + 13 ADV via CAO Metaal & Techniek, based on full-time)
- 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, pension via PMT
- €1.000 a year available in training budget
- You will play a key role in building a reliable and scalable supply chain that directly impacts the performance and delivery of our technology.
- A tight-knit team that values initiative, trust, and getting things done
- Coffee, smart people, and a high-tech product that is making the difference
