Job description

Are you a procurement professional ready for the next step, where technology, procurement, and cross-functional collaboration come together?

Within a dynamic high‑tech manufacturing environment in the Brainport region, we are looking for a Project Buyer (NPI) who will play a key role in supporting the introduction of new products.

In this position, you act as the bridge between Engineering and Procurement, translating technical requirements into effective sourcing strategies for components and materials. You will work closely with R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, and suppliers to ensure that new products are launched successfully, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

Your primary focus will be on New Product Introductions (NPI), ensuring that the right suppliers, components, and commercial agreements are in place to support business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support sourcing activities and supplier selection for components and materials required for New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Manage supplier selection, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding processes.
  • Develop and execute dual‑sourcing strategies to strengthen supply continuity.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including renewals and pricing agreements.
  • Maintain supplier and purchasing master data within SAP, including pricing, lead times, supplier information, and planning parameters.
  • Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as cost savings, quality performance, responsiveness, and delivery reliability.
  • Analyse spend data and identify opportunities for cost reduction through negotiation and value engineering initiatives.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and develop continuity plans related to shortages, end‑of‑life components, and supplier dependencies.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on should‑costing and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) projects.
  • Identify inventory optimisation opportunities through MOQ improvements, lead time reductions, and vendor‑managed inventory solutions.
  • Act as an escalation point for Operational Buyers and support the wider procurement team.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Quality.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's level of thinking and working.
  • Educational background in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Several years of procurement experience within a technical manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience within electronics, microelectronics, or high‑tech manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Affinity with project‑driven procurement and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate independently.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a focus on building sustainable supplier relationships.
  • Analytical, proactive, decisive, and commercially minded.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English.
Why This Opportunity?
  • Work at the intersection of technology, engineering, and procurement.
  • Contribute directly to the successful launch of innovative high‑tech products.
  • Join an ambitious and fast‑growing technology‑driven environment.
  • Collaborate with talented professionals in an international setting.
  • Enjoy a flat organisational structure with short communication lines.
  • Access modern BI tools and professional procurement systems.
  • Benefit from excellent opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Be part of an entrepreneurial culture where initiative and ownership are valued.
