Role Summary

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with a strong data background to join our Business Analysis & Data Solutions team in Baarn. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on SQL, Power BI and data modelling experience who enjoys the business side: understanding how real estate finance and operations work, and turning that into precise data and reporting requirements. The role is based in our Baarn office in the Netherlands, with in‑office presence required for at least three days per week. Cerberus is bringing its real estate data and reporting platform in‑house, with the Microsoft Fabric backend moving from an external partner to our internal team. You will start at the centre of that transition and, as the platform maturing, extend your scope to other projects, asset classes and lines of business across Cerberus Europe. The Business Analysis & Data Solutions team is part of our Business Optimization Team, a Netherlands‑based team of 12 people in Baarn. Working side by side with our Data Engineers and Power BI specialists, you will make sure that what gets built matches what the business actually needs. We work AI‑first: you will use tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot in Fabric and Power BI, and Copilot Studio every day to write and review SQL, draft requirements and test cases, document models and analyse data, and you will keep testing new AI capabilities to find where they make the team faster.

Key Areas Of Responsibility Include
  • Own requirements and data mapping end to end: from Yardi source tables, through the Fabric lakehouse and warehouse and the semantic model, to the final Power BI report.
  • Translate business requests into functional and technical specifications, user stories and clear acceptance criteria, and manage and prioritise the backlog in Azure DevOps.
  • Use AI as a core part of your toolkit: apply Copilot and other AI tools to accelerate requirements, SQL, data validation, documentation and testing; experiment with new AI features and agents as they become available; and share what works so the whole team gets faster.
  • Validate data with SQL and, where it helps, get hands‑on in Microsoft Fabric (queries, notebooks, dataflows and lakehouse checks) to reconcile migrated reports against legacy outputs, including the general ledger, rent roll and loan schedules, before anything goes live.
  • Build an understanding of the measures in the semantic model (DAX experience is a plus, not a must), and document KPI definitions and the data dictionary so every number has a clear, agreed meaning.
  • Define and monitor master data and data quality controls, and run sanity checks on new data sources as the platform extends to other asset classes.
  • Lead user acceptance testing with business users, manage release and sign‑off, and act as the day‑to‑day contact for finance, accounting and asset management stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is technically curious and genuinely interested in the business. The right candidate is comfortable writing a SQL query to prove a point, can discuss a star schema with an engineer and a variance with a controller, and enjoys turning complex finance and real estate processes into precise data requirements. You are structured, pragmatic and persistent about getting the numbers right. Above all, you are an early adopter of AI: you enjoy testing new AI tools, use them as much as possible to get more done in less time, and are critical enough to check and improve what they produce.

You will join the Business Analysis & Data Solutions team, part of our young, motivated Business Optimization Team of 12 people in the Netherlands, which also includes Data Engineers, Project Managers, Power BI Specialists, Data Warehousing experts and Workflow / Power Platform Developers. You will also work closely with experienced IT specialists in the United States.

Benefits Of This Role
  • Modern Data Stack: Work hands‑on with Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses, notebooks, dataflows, a medallion architecture and enterprise semantic models, starting with our real estate data platform.
  • End‑to‑end Ownership: Take responsibility for the full chain from source system to report, rather than a single step in someone else’s process.
  • Business Exposure: Gain a deep understanding of investment and real estate operations across Europe, working directly with finance, accounting and asset management teams.
  • AI‑first Way of Working: Work hands‑on with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot in Fabric and Power BI, Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry in our secured enterprise environment. You get the room to experiment, automate parts of your own work and help shape how the team uses AI to deliver faster, while also using it to master new technologies such as DAX and Fabric quickly.
Skills And Qualifications
  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Econometrics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst or in a similar data‑focused role.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing queries to explore, validate and reconcile data.
  • Hands‑on experience with Power BI; an understanding of DAX and Power BI measures, or the willingness to learn them, is welcome.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, including star schema design.
  • Proven ability to translate finance or real estate processes into clear data requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience using AI tools (such as agents and vibe coding or similar) in your daily work, and a strong drive to test and adopt new AI capabilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including with non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows/Pipelines, Notebooks) and with PySpark or Python, or a strong interest in getting hands‑on with them.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or another real estate or ERP system, and knowledge of real estate fund accounting (GL, intercompany, AP/AR, CAPEX, leases).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working, Azure DevOps and Git‑based Power BI deployment.
What We Offer
  • A collaborative, fast‑paced working environment.
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and advance professionally.
  • Support from experienced US‑based IT professionals, with direct access to Microsoft support experts.
  • A small‑company atmosphere with a global enterprise technology stack.
Employment Conditions
  • Full‑time position of 40 hours per week.
  • Salary range: EUR 60,000 –80,000 gross per year, depending on relevant work experience, plus a discretionary bonus with a target of approximately 15%.
  • In addition to the gross salary, the employee is entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses (EUR 0.23 per kilometer), a working‑from‑home allowance (EUR 2.45 per day), and a net expense allowance of EUR 1,200 per year.
  • 25 days of annual leave per calendar year.
  • Employer‑paid disability insurance (AOV).
  • An employer pension contribution of 8%, together with employer‑paid ANW gap insurance.
  • The employment agreement will initially be entered into for a fixed term of one year.
  • Restrictions apply with regard to personal investments.
  • As part of the recruitment process, a background screening must be successfully completed before the employment agreement becomes effective.
Location and Hours
  • In‑office presence required for at least three days a week.
  • The role is based in Baarn, the Netherlands.

If you enjoy working with data, love testing what AI can do and want to apply your SQL and Power BI skills to real business problems in a collaborative global environment, we would love to hear from you.
