Job description

International, centrally positioned role with direct impact on the deployment of thousands of tank containers worldwide.

You have a good job. But you feel there’s more in it for you.

Maybe you’re looking for greater international impact. Or you’re ready to move beyond environments where data lags behind reality.

At our client, that’s exactly the challenge.

Today, the global fleet is still largely managed through manual spreadsheets. Data is fragmented, often outdated, and not available in real time.

You are going to fundamentally change that.

For one of the world’s largest tank container leasing companies — managing over 75,000 tank containers globally — we are looking for a Data Analyst for an internationally focused, centrally positioned role based in Rotterdam.

In this role, you don’t just report on numbers — you directly influence the deployment, availability, and planning of tank containers worldwide. Your work ensures that stakeholders across the globe can generate accurate, real-time reports at any moment and use them for decision-making.

This level of tangible impact is rare in a data analyst role.

About the organization

Our client is one of the largest tank container leasing companies in the world. With a global fleet and international customer base, data plays an increasingly critical role in its success.

The organization is undergoing a transition from manual, Excel-driven processes to data-driven operations with real-time insights.

As part of the Marmon Group (a Berkshire Hathaway company), you benefit from a strong international foundation combined with the dynamics of an evolving organization.

The culture is open, international, and results-driven, offering significant responsibility and room for initiative.

Tasks

Your challenge

As a Data Analyst, you operate at the heart of an international operation. You ensure a single source of truth and support the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process.

You work with data from multiple systems — including ERP (legacy), CRM (Dynamics), WMS, and depot software — and translate this data into clear, actionable insights.

You identify deviations and convert them into concrete actions that directly impact operations.

You ensure stakeholders no longer rely on outdated figures, but instead work with real-time dashboards and reporting that drive international decision-making.

You report directly to the Global Fleet Manager and collaborate closely with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, and IT.

Although you work within an international team, your role is centrally positioned in Rotterdam, supporting global fleet management across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and China.

The first months are critical for success.
You start by taking over existing processes and ensuring continuity in reporting. From there, you progressively improve, automate, and professionalize data and dashboards.

What will you do?

  • Consolidate, structure, and validate data from multiple sources
  • Ensure reliable and consistent data across global operations
  • Build and improve real-time dashboards and reporting in Power BI
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for the global fleet
  • Analyze deviations and drive performance improvements
  • Translate data into actionable insights and business decisions

You make the difference by making data usable — not just visible.

Requirements

Your profile

This role suits you if you look beyond numbers and want to make a real impact in an international supply chain environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g. in Data, Supply Chain, or Business Administration)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst within a logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environment
  • Strong skills in Excel, Power BI (including DAX), and SQL
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify patterns quickly
  • Confident and effective in working with international stakeholders
  • Proactive, with the ability to provide both solicited and unsolicited advice

International experience is essential.
You have worked in a global supply chain environment (e.g. logistics, leasing, shipping, or manufacturing) and have proven experience with SIOP processes.

You are not a pure IT specialist, but a business-oriented data analyst who understands how processes work and how data drives decision-making.

Additionally:

  • Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
  • Available for a full-time role (40 hours)
  • Comfortable working across multiple time zones

Technical qualifications

In this role, you operate at the intersection of data and supply chain. Therefore, experience with the following is important:

  • Approximately 4–7 years of experience in data or business analytics within supply chain or SIOP
  • SQL, data modeling (star/snowflake), Power BI (DAX), and Excel (Power Query / Power Pivot)
  • Data quality frameworks and master data management
  • Demand planning, inventory management, and SIOP processes
  • Connecting operational and financial data
  • Collaboration with Finance on reporting and forecasting
  • Working with international stakeholders across multiple time zones

Preferred
D365 FO · Azure / Synapse / Databricks / Data Lake · SAP IBP, Kinaxis, or Anaplan · Python or R · Power Automate · external data sources (market data, POS, distribution data)

Benefits

What’s in it for you?

A role with real impact, within an international organization that is evolving rapidly.

  • Gross monthly salary up to €5,800 (based on full-time, depending on experience)
  • One-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position
  • 26 vacation days + 8% holiday allowance
  • Laptop and mobile phone
  • Personal development budget (training, courses, tools)
  • Collective pension scheme

You will have the opportunity to shape this role and make a direct contribution to the organization’s professionalization.
