The role

As the Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer at Damen Naval, you'll drive excellence in supplier quality for our cutting-edge naval shipbuilding projects. You'll optimize supplier QA processes and procedures for your assigned projects, ensuring compliance to the highest standards. Your core responsibilities include conducting thorough QA Audits at supplier locations across Western Europe, providing expert oversight, guidance, and comprehensive reporting on any quality issues. This role demands frequent travel to ensure our demanding quality standards are met at every step of the supply chain.

Key Accountabilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Leading Supplier QA Audits: Conduct audits, report findings, and drive corrective actions at supplier sites.
Managing Supplier Quality Risks: Maintain a risk register and implement robust mitigation plans.
Advancing Supplier QA Standards: Contribute to adapting and applying leading QA principles.
Ensuring Quality Process Application: Verify correct use of supplier quality protocols and procedures.
Implementing Tailored QA for Suppliers: Design custom QA processes as needed for unique supplier needs.
Providing Strategic Quality Updates: Report supplier QA status and issue mitigation to project management.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

4+ years in Quality Assurance Management, ideally within naval, defense, shipbuilding, or complex industrial sectors.
Strong understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably in shipbuilding.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Quality Assurance, Technical Business Administration, Maritime Technology, Shipbuilding, or an equivalent technical field.
Excellent command of English (written & spoken) is essential.
Demonstrated experience in conducting quality audits and managing supplier quality risks.
Solid understanding of QA standards and principles, with a proven ability to contribute to their application and implementation.
Readiness and capability for frequent travel to supplier locations across Western Europe.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
