Job summary

A leading global automotive company is seeking a Supplier Development Manager to enhance supplier quality across regions. This role involves monitoring supplier performance, conducting audits, and driving supplier development activities. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Engineering or Quality Management and solid experience in supplier quality management. Fluency in English is essential, with business-level German and Dutch preferred. Role and responsibilities

As our Supplier Development Manager, you will be a pivotal part of our [department/team], playing a crucial role in [brief description of the role's impact]. Here's what you'll do:

  • Global Supplier Quality Management: Global responsibility for monitoring and steering supplier quality performance across all regions and business lines. Maintain transparency on supplier quality KPIs, including complaints, non-conformities, and delivery performance.
  • Define and continue develop all supplier management related systems and procedures as well as digital solutions together with Procurement Coordinator.
  • Supplier Performance & Escalation Management: Lead and coordinate supplier-related quality escalations, acting as the central interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers. Ensure effective root cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustainable resolution of quality issues.
  • Audits & Assessments: Plan and conduct supplier audits as required, including system, process, and product audits. Support and coordinate VDA 6.3 or comparable audits; auditor certification is an advantage. Depending on organizational setup, an operational auditor may report functionally into this role.
  • Supplier Development: Drive structured supplier development activities to improve quality maturity, robustness, and compliance with group requirements. Define and track improvement roadmaps together with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Professional Skills: Solid experience in supplier quality management within an automotive or automotive-related environment. Strong understanding of automotive quality standards, methods, and processes. Experience with supplier audits; VDA 6.3 auditor certification is an advantage. Ability to manage complex issues across regions and cultures in a structured and pragmatic way. Strong organizational skills.
  • Personal Skills: Senior-level presence with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels. Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style. High level of independence, reliability, and accountability. Strong negotiation and escalation competence.
  • Languages: English (Fluent), German (Business fluent), Dutch (Preferred / advantageous).
