Job summary

NTS Group Eindhoven is seeking a Category Manager - Mechanics to define and execute category strategies for mechanical parts and assemblies across the global supply base. You will collaborate with site procurement, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure cost competitiveness and supply continuity.

Reporting to the Global Sourcing Director, you will lead supplier relationships in a fast-paced, high-tech environment, driving long-term agreements and cost optimization

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of strategic procurement experience in mechatronics or related field.
• Experience setting up and executing supplier category strategies.
• Strong background in supplier development, cost optimization, and risk management.
• Hands-on experience in contract negotiation, TCO analysis, and cost modeling.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs, and translate constraints into sourcing requirements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.

Job Description

As Category Manager - Mechanics at NTS Group Eindhoven, you are responsible for defining and executing category strategies for mechanical parts and (sub) assemblies across our global supply base. You work closely with site procurement teams, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure technical alignment, cost competitiveness, and supply continuity. You report to the Global Sourcing Director and work within a global Sourcing team. This role calls for strong commercial acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to lead supplier relationships in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

• Develop and execute long-term category strategies to ensure cost efficiency, quality, supply security, and best-cost-country sourcing;
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including contract negotiations and long-term supplier agreements, shaping our global supplier landscape;
• Manage strategic supplier accounts, negotiating QLTCS aspects and building strong relationships with key suppliers;
• Drive supplier development programs focused on quality, capacity, cost optimization, and risk mitigation;
• Conduct market intelligence and cost analysis, including TCO and should-cost modelling, to identify value creation opportunities;
• Lead cross-functional sourcing projects from initiation through planning and execution;
• Track category performance, monitor KPIs, and generate periodic reports to higher management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field;
• Minimum 10 years of strategic procurement experience in mechatronics or a related field;
• Proven experience setting up and executing supplier category strategies;
• Strong background in supplier development, cost optimization, and risk management;
• Hands-on experience in contract negotiation, TCO analysis, and cost modeling;
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs, and translate constraints into sourcing requirements;
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.

Your terms of employment

• Salary from €5800 to €7800;
