Job summary

Flex is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to join our team in Woerden, NL, focusing on supplier quality improvement across APQP/PPAP, IATF16949 and MCi requirements. You will drive audits, support design reviews, and foster continuous improvement with supplier partners.

Your background includes HBO in quality engineering (EOQ) or ASQ CQE, plus IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 auditing experience. Dutch or English fluency and travel up to 20% are expected.

Qualifications

• Higher (HBO) education with Quality Engineer (EOQ) or ASQ CQE.
• Knowledge and experience with IATF 16949.
• Fluent in Dutch or English.
• Knowledge and experience with auditing; VDA 6.3 auditor certification, minimum 3 years auditing experience in Automotive.
• Thorough knowledge of problem-solving techniques (8D, DOE).
• Good knowledge of statistical and quality control techniques.
• Focus on problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Team player with excellent communication skills, customer-focussed, analytical, and solution-oriented.
• Available for (international) travel (max 20%).

Responsibilities

• Leads APQP/PPAP process with suppliers for products and materials from product development to SOP stage.
• Designs and maintains procedures and documentation according IATF 16949 requirements and reports about quality performance of suppliers.
• Leads quality management system- and process audits at suppliers, using VDA 6.3 procedure.
• Advises if supplier development actions are required.
• Performs also other compliance audits regarding automotive standards where required.
• Participates in product development teams and safeguards APQP process related to external suppliers and purchased material.
• Provides support to suppliers to improve their quality performance and provides training in MCi’s quality objectives.
• Leads 8D-problemsolving process for major, complex nonconformities and informs MCi plants.
• Makes sure non conformality costs caused by supplier are addressed.
• Provides input to Engineering team in design reviews, and DFM input.
• Delivers supplier performance input to Sourcing committee.
• Provides input to management about risk assessments in case of potential unpredicted situations.
• Maintain and update automotive compliance requirements with suppliers.
