Job summary

Jump Recruitment Specialists partners with Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation to hire a Human Resources Director for Sheshatshiu, Labrador. This leadership role oversees HR strategy, workforce planning, recruitment, compensation, and capacity-building to support community priorities and organizational growth.

The successful candidate will drive policy development, governance and staff development while ensuring regulatory compliance and culturally respectful practices within the Nation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in HR or related field.
• CHRP/CPHR designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of progressive HR experience including senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an HR strategy aligned with the organization’s plan and community priorities.
• Provide expert advice to senior leadership on HR matters and organizational development.
• Lead HR systems, policies, and practices for long-term sustainability.
• Oversee recruitment, workforce planning, and documentation processes.
• Lead compensation frameworks, salary structures, and job classifications.
• Develop training and organizational development initiatives and succession planning.
• Ensure onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes are effective.
• Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders; maintain confidentiality and governance.
