Job summary

The OPCW, based in The Hague, Netherlands, seeks a Head of Public Affairs to lead Strategic Communications within the Public Affairs Branch. You will shape the organisation's external messaging, manage media relations and public diplomacy, and raise awareness of the OPCW's work on disarmament.

• Advanced degree in international relations, public relations, journalism or a related field.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience; international organisation experience preferred.
• Certifications in strategic communications or digital channels are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of OPCW's global communications strategy.
• Serve as OPCW Spokesperson and coordinate media engagement.
• Oversee Public Affairs Branch operations, budget and staff development.
• Advise senior leadership on external communications and crisis messaging.
• Strengthen engagement with States Parties, international organisations and NGOs.
