European Climate Foundation (ECF) is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer to oversee financial health, ensure asset integrity, and optimize resources for scaling impact. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead Financial Grants Management, Accounting, and Financial Controlling, along with procurement and legal functions, guiding governance and compliance across the foundation.

Qualifications

• Significant CFO experience in non-profit or foundation finance.
• Experience with international funding and Dutch fund accounting.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Dutch language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Financial Grants Management, Accounting and Financial Controlling, Procurement, Legal and Fiscal hosting departments.
• Lead the development and execution of the organisation's short- and long-term financial strategy.
• Ensure compliance with European, national and international financial regulations governing foundations.
• Manage relationships with internal/external auditors and funders; oversee internal controls to mitigate risk.
• Mentor and scale a high-performing finance team and report evolution to the Management Team.
