Job summary

Randstad Professional is assisting NEO NL in finding a Business Controller to join their finance team in the Netherlands. The role focuses on translating project activities into robust financial insights, maintaining multi-year budgets and rolling forecasts, and ensuring decisions are grounded in sound data.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree or equivalent level of education in Finance, Business Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of relevant professional experience in business control, FP&A, or project cost control.
• Experience operating in capital-intensive infrastructure, energy, or major engineering project environments.
• Ability to operate in a start-up or scale-up organizational environment.
• Strong ability to translate complex technical and operational information into clear financial insights, and vice versa.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Annual Budgeting: Transform programme and project budgets into the integrated annual budget, aligning with shareholder planning and reporting requirements.
• Rolling Forecasting: Maintain rolling forecasts with project controls and departmental estimates, ensuring traceability.
• Variance Analysis & Cost Control: Monitor expenditures, explain variances, and flag risks to protect cost discipline.
• Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a financial sparring partner to operational and project managers, challenging cost estimates and proposals.
• Management & Shareholder Reporting: Produce actionable management information and reporting to the Board and EZK.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to design and optimisation of control processes and financial systems.
