Job summary

NEO NL is seeking a Business Controller to provide objective financial insight, forward-looking analysis, and strong business partnering across the organisation. You will translate project activities into dependable financial insights, safeguard multi-year budgets, and ensure decisions are grounded in solid financial information.

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, you will contribute to quarterly and annual planning, drive cost discipline, and support executive and ministerial reporting

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Business Economics, Accounting, or related discipline.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in business control, FP&A, or project cost control.
• Experience in capital-intensive infrastructure, energy, or major engineering projects.
• Experience operating in a start-up or scale-up environment.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear financial insights.
• Excellent command of Dutch and English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Annual Budgeting: transform programme and project budgets into the integrated annual budget.
• Rolling Forecasting: maintain and update rolling forecasts as estimates evolve.
• Variance Analysis & Cost Control: monitor expenditures, investigate variances, flag risks.
• Strategic Business Partnering: act as a financial sparring partner to managers.
• Management & Shareholder Reporting: produce actionable reports for Board and EZK reporting.
• Continuous Improvement: improve control processes, templates, and systems.
