Park Plaza Utrecht is seeking a Steward/Afwasser to maintain exceptional cleanliness across kitchens and back-of-house areas. You will support the kitchen team, ensuring hygienic, safe, and well-organised environments for guests and colleagues.

The role requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Elective weekends/holidays flexibility and English communication are essential in this position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with hygiene/HACCP/Health & Safety standards.
• Support kitchen and F&B by maintaining clean, safe environments.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns following procedures.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure a positive team environment.

Overview

Feel the Authentic Park Plaza Utrecht offers a contemporary stay in the heart of the city, within walking distance of Utrecht Central Station and Hoog Catharijne shopping centre. Guests stay in one of our 120 spacious rooms, inspired by the iconic De Stijl art movement. The hotel is a popular destination for both business and leisure travellers.

As a Steward/Afwasser, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout our kitchens and back‑of‑house areas. Working closely with the kitchen team, you will play a key role in supporting efficient operations and creating a safe, organised, and welcoming environment for both guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain china, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, and chefs' equipment to the highest standards
• Carry out dishwashing and deep‑cleaning duties for kitchen machinery, kitchen areas, storage facilities, and back‑of‑house colleague areas
• Ensure all cleaning activities are completed in accordance with hygiene, HACCP, Health & Safety, and company standards
• Support the kitchen and Food & Beverage teams by maintaining clean, organised, and safe working environments
• Report maintenance issues, incidents, accidents, and safety concerns while following company procedures and guidelines
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive and efficient team environment

Essential Requirements

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
• Flexible availability to work different shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required

Preferred Requirements

• Previous experience in a Steward, Kitchen Porter, Cleaning, or Hospitality Support role
• Basic knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and cleaning procedures
• Experience working in a hotel, restaurant, or catering environment
• Interest in developing a career in hospitality or becoming a Chef in the future
