Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer in Amsterdam to deliver strategic outcomes for AI adoption across Enterprise customers. You’ll contribute production-grade code, resolve adoption blockers, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to shape product direction and reusable guidance.

Qualifications

• Senior staff-level engineer with production software experience.
• Experience contributing to large, mature codebases with high testing standards.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex adoption blockers and deliver durable product improvements.
• Experience working with strategic customers or senior technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute production-quality code to GitLab’s product and adjacent systems.
• Develop fixes, features, integrations, and tooling for strategic customers.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure scalable, long-term solutions.
• Turn field blockers into reusable product improvements and reference architectures.
• Work across teams to drive AI adoption patterns and governance.
