Job summary

GitLab is looking for a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to connect customer outcomes with hands-on engineering in the APJ region. You'll work with strategic accounts to implement GitLab's solutions in complex Enterprise environments and provide technical guidance.

This role offers opportunities to lead architecture designs and influence upstream decisions, focusing on reducing time to value while ensuring compliance and security. Candidates should have strong software engineering skills, particularly with GitLab CI/CD and infrastructure as code tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or similar customer‑facing engineering roles.
• Strong understanding of security boundaries and operational tradeoffs.
• Experience with large language models and AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep technical discovery in selected strategic accounts.
• Lead architecture and delivery design for complex enterprise environments.
• Design and build reusable deployment patterns.
