Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Staff Engineer – Pricing in the Netherlands. You will own the Pricing API and drive the extraction of pricing logic into a standalone service, optimizing for speed, accuracy, and explainability.

The role emphasizes architectural leadership, cross-team collaboration, and AI-assisted engineering workflows. The position offers remote-first work with strong emphasis on reliability, data integrity, and scalable infrastructure for real-time energy pricing and fintech-like

Qualifications

• Proven Python backend experience designing, building and owning APIs at scale.
• Ability to take ownership of production systems and act as escalation point for complex backend issues.
• Experience leading decoupling, migrations or architecture transformations in live systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, evolve, and operate the Pricing API for speed, reliability, accuracy, and third-party consumption.
• Lead extraction of pricing logic into a dedicated service with clear boundaries.
• Manage architectural migrations and decoupling while preserving functionality.
• Own pricing reliability with monitoring and alerting to catch incorrect or slow prices.
• Ensure pricing failures are explainable with robust diagnostic mechanisms.
• Improve pricing performance and reduce quote latency through architectural optimizations.
• Act as senior technical authority in pricing, shaping standards and practices.
• Foster engineering growth via pairing, knowledge sharing, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Escalate live pricing incidents and translate learnings into durable improvements.
• Balance speed, accuracy, reliability, cost, and explainability in decisions.
