Jobgether is partnering with a Netherlands-based team seeking a Staff AI Engineer to drive AI-powered developer tools for C++ workflows. You will shape architectures for AI integrations, prototype AI-assisted workflows, and define how AI agents interact with development environments in a hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leadership experience at Staff/Principal/Tech Lead level.
• Proficiency in Kotlin/Java or JVM languages.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools and coding agents.
• Strong knowledge of AI evaluation techniques and tool calling.
• Ability to drive technical direction in ambiguous, fast-evolving areas.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver AI-powered features for C++ development workflows and developer tools.
• Design architectures for AI integrations, coding agents, agent tools, and C++-specific AI capabilities.
• Prototype and validate AI-assisted workflows (debugging, understanding, refactoring, navigation).
• Build benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted software development.
• Collaborate with product managers, ML/QC/engineering teams to define the roadmap.
• Define the technical roadmap for AI agent and tool integrations in C++ workflows.
• Contribute to design, architecture, and implementation within a mature codebase.
