Job summary

JetBrains in Amsterdam seeks a senior technical leader to shape AI-powered CLion experiences for C++ developers. You’ll prototype, implement, and validate AI workflows and define architectural directions across tools, agents, and IDE integration.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, and QA to deliver a roadmap, evaluate AI capabilities in the IDE, and contribute hands-on to design and code in a large, mature codebase.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience at senior staff level.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Java or JVM languages.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools and coding assistants.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver AI-powered features for CLion and C++ development workflows.
• Design the architecture for AI integrations, agent tools, and C++-specific AI capabilities.
• Prototype and validate new AI workflows including debugging, code understanding, refactoring, and navigation.
• Collaborate with product managers, ML engineers, QA engineers, stakeholders and senior developers to shape the roadmap.
• Contribute hands-on to technical design, software architecture, and implementation in a large codebase.
