Job summary

JetBrains in Amsterdam seeks a senior technical leader to shape AI-powered workflows for CLion and C++ development. You’ll prototype, implement, and validate AI-assisted features while defining how AI agents integrate into developer tools within a large, mature codebase.

This hands-on role prioritizes technical leadership over people management, collaborating with product, ML, QA, and engineering teams to craft an AI-native experience for the C++ ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience in senior technical roles.
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools or coding assistants.
• Strong understanding of AI agents, tool calling, and evaluation techniques.
• Ability to drive technical direction in ambiguous, fast-changing areas.

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver AI-powered features for CLion and C++ workflows.
• Design architecture for AI integrations, agent tools, and C++ AI capabilities.
• Build benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI-assisted C++ development.
• Prototype and validate AI workflows including debugging, code understanding, refactoring, and navigation.
• Collaborate with product, ML, QA, and senior developers to shape the roadmap.
• Work with JetBrains AI, ML, and product teams to define AI strategy for C++.
