Job summary

The European Space Agency in the Netherlands is seeking a Power Management Engineer to join the Power Management and Distribution Section. You will support power system design, energy budgeting and control for space missions across platforms and payloads.

A Master’s degree in electrical engineering is required, with about five years of relevant experience. Hands-on hardware experience, spacecraft systems knowledge and procurement exposure are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering with about 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on hardware experience in power systems and space environments.
• Experience in power system analysis, DC/DC converter design and FPGA programming.
• Knowledge of power distribution, energy budgeting and high-/low-voltage systems.
• Familiarity with space mission development and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical support and consultancy on power management and distribution.
• Participate in feasibility studies, procurement reviews and project evaluations.
• Define technology development requirements and work plans for agency programmes.
• Initiate and manage R&D activities spanning long- and short-term needs.
• Foster new application areas and coordinate laboratory activities.
• Monitor trends and disseminate results across the agency.
