Job summary

Strandhotel Duinoord in Vrouwenpolder is seeking a hands-on Sous Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, oversee prep work, staff meals, hygiene, and food safety. You will also contribute ideas for new dishes to enhance the menu.

We offer a full-time year-round contract with opportunities like fixed days off, travel reimbursement, and parking. Availability five days a week, and evenings/weekends are required to fit busy seasonal periods.

Qualifications

• Must be available at least 5 days a week.
• Must be a team player and able to work with others.
• Available in the evenings and on weekends.
• Experience as a sous chef or independent chef in a professional kitchen is preferred.
• Fluency in Dutch; English/German a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily kitchen operations and prep work.

Job description

We're immediately looking for a sous chef to join our kitchen team. Would you like to work in our spacious kitchen, nestled beneath the Zeeland dunes? We're situated in one of the most beautiful locations in Vrouwenpolder, just a stone's throw from the beautiful beach and a popular stop on the Walcheren cycling routes. Our guests love to return to explore the rest of the menu and enjoy our lovely terrace.

The summer months are a lot of work, but the winter months offer some nice free time in return.

What does the Sous Chef position entail?

As a sous chef, you'll be responsible for daily kitchen operations, preparations, staff meals, hygiene, and food safety. You'll also contribute ideas for new dishes for the menu.

What do we expect from you?

• Available at least 5 days a week.
• You are a team player.
• You are available in the evenings and on weekends
• You have experience as a sous chef or independent chef in a professional kitchen.
• You are fluent in Dutch. (English and German are a plus.)
