Job summary

Multi.engineering is seeking a shipbuilding engineer to join the Rotterdam-area shipyard on-site. You will use AutoCAD 2D to prepare and coordinate Plans & Arrangements for a new river cruise vessel, working closely with other engineers. English suffices for daily communication, and relocation support is available.

Both employment and freelance contracts are possible, with a one-year fixed-term contract. Based at the shipyard office, you will develop general arrangements, deck plans, and space

Job description

• Work location: Rotterdam area, the Netherlands - on-site
• Start: As soon as possible
• Duration: Until the end of 2026, with the possibility of extension
• Contract: Freelance assignment/employment contract
• Focus: Plans & Arrangements, AutoCAD 2D and newbuild river cruise vessels

This position is suitable for a shipbuilding engineer who can step into the project and work independently from the start. Based at the shipyard near Rotterdam, you will use AutoCAD 2D to prepare and coordinate the Plans & Arrangements information for a new river cruise vessel. English is enough for daily communication, and both employment and freelance contracts are possible. Relocation support is available if needed.

Where You’ll Work

You will work from the shipyard’s office alongside the other engineers, allowing technical questions to be discussed and resolved as the project develops.

Because the work requires regular coordination at the shipyard, fully remote work is not possible.

What You’ll Do

• Develop general arrangements, deck plans and space layouts in AutoCAD 2D.
• Prepare system and space descriptions for the vessel.
• Create foundation drawings for equipment and installations.
• Produce technical lists and fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Coordinate and monitor detailed engineering activities.
• Check that the technical information is complete and suitable for construction.
• Provide engineering support during the construction phase when requested.
