Job summary

Pelican Rouge Coffee Roasters, part of Selecta Group, seeks an experienced Shift Manager to lead the end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing operations at its 24/7 Netherlands roasting facility. You will report to the Managing Director and drive safe, efficient, high-quality production across roasting, grinding, blending and packaging.

Qualifications

• Several years of leadership experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Experience leading teams in rotating/24/7 production environments.
• Strong knowledge of production, warehousing, and logistics.
• Solid understanding of food safety, HACCP, traceability and quality management systems.
• Technical affinity and collaboration with maintenance/engineering teams.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, CI or Operational Excellence.
• Experience with ERP, MES, WMS and operational reporting tools.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all shift activities across production, logistics, warehousing and technical operations.
• Deliver roasting, grinding, mixing, and packaging schedules safely and on time.
• Ensure food safety, HACCP, quality and traceability compliance across operations.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, storage, inventory accuracy, and order picking.
• Coordinate daily priorities between Production, Logistics and Technical teams.
• Develop and coach team leaders; drive accountability and engagement.
• Conduct shift briefings, handovers and workforce planning.
• Monitor KPIs such as safety, OEE, quality, productivity, waste and delivery performance.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, waste and costs.
• Ensure health & safety procedures, PPE use and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain accurate production, stock, traceability and performance data in systems.
• Act as shift decision-maker handling priorities and breakdowns in real time.

Pelican Rouge Coffee Roasters, part of Selecta Group, is an seeking experienced and hands-on Shift Manager (m/f/d) to lead our end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and serving as a member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across our 24/7 coffee roasting facility in the Netherlands.

This is a highly visible leadership role with full accountability for roasting, grinding, blending, mixing, packaging, warehousing, dispatch, product development, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in delivering operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, food compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all operational activities during your shift, covering production, logistics, warehousing, and technical operations
• Deliver the roasting, grinding, mixing, and packaging schedule safely, efficiently, and on time
• Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, quality, traceability, and IFS standards across all operations
• Manage inbound logistics, storage, inventory accuracy, order picking, and outbound shipments
• Coordinate daily priorities between Production, Logistics, and Technical teams to maximize uptime and performance
• Lead and develop the Mixing, Packaging, Logistics, and Technical Team Leaders, driving accountability and engagement
• Conduct shift briefings, handovers, performance discussions, and workforce planning activities
• Monitor and improve key operational KPIs including safety, OEE, quality, productivity, waste, and delivery performance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, waste, rework, and operational costs
• Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards across the site
• Maintain accurate production, stock, traceability, and performance data within operational systems
• Act as the key decision-maker during the shift, managing priorities, breakdowns, and operational challenges in real time

Your Profile

• Several years of leadership experience within food manufacturing, coffee roasting, beverage production, logistics, or FMCG environments
• Experience managing teams within a rotating-shift or 24/7 production environment
• Strong knowledge of production processes, warehouse operations, and logistics coordination
• Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, traceability, and quality management systems
• Technical affinity and experience working closely with maintenance or engineering teams
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies
• Experience working with ERP, MES, WMS, KPI dashboards, and operational reporting tools
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead, coach, and motivate diverse teams
• Decisive, hands-on, and able to remain calm under pressure while driving results
• MBO+ or HBO level education in Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required
